Quality Engineering & Control Manager

This role is imperative to the day to day quality control and improvement of manufacturing processes for a medical device and consumer product manufacturer within their centre of excellence.

Key responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Management, coaching and development of the Quality Engineering & Control teams
  • Quality Engineering, QC Labs, In Process Quality Assurance (IPQA), Product Release & Technical Specialists
  • Work in partnership with Operations to improve manufacturing processes and control systems
  • Planning, directing and assigning work across the team
  • Manage, monitor and improve key operational processes:
    • Goods Receiving/Release
    • Process control and routine monitoring
    • Product Quality Plans and control strategies
    • In-Process and Batch Release inspection/test processes
    • Complaint, NCR, CAPA investigation and root cause determinations
    • QE&C metrics reporting to internal management and external customers
  • Represent Quality function on key project teams (e.g. new product introduction, product design, materials, packaging and process changes)
  • Deputise for other Quality Team Management as required
  • Comply with site Health and Safety procedures.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally educated to degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or scientific discipline
  • Demonstration of an appropriate level of knowledge, ability and experience in quality management and control aspects

Professional/Technical Experience:

  • Line management experience
  • Management experience in Quality Engineering & Control within a medical device / pharma environment
  • Working knowledge of Quality System and Regulatory requirements
  • Quality improvement initiatives - data-driven approach using appropriate TQM tools
