COVID-19 Vaccination: What do you need to know?

As COVID-19 continues to evolve, the issue of mutations start to surface. New variants are also capable of spreading faster. But what does this mean?
Does this make the vaccines less effective? Do the vaccines have side-effects that we should be aware of? Are the information you hear in the media and public accurate?
As Real Life Sciences partner with organisations within the life sciences industry, we have invited Dr Timothy Low to share with us more about the vaccines in Singapore. This session was moderated by Insung Cho, our recruitment expert for the Medical Affairs and R&D sector in Asia.
This was an extremely informative session where Dr. Low has broken down medical terms for us to understand Covid-19 as well as the respective vaccinations a lot better. We also used the opportunity to ask him some very interesting questions from our audience.
You may watch the full session in the video below where we covered key points such as:
- What is Covid-19 and the various strains of concern?
- How is Covid-19 different from a regular cold?
- What are some of the myths we want to dispel about the vaccines?
- Should immunocompromised patients receive the vaccine?
- Should pregnant or breastfeeding women receive the vaccine?
- Should any medication be taken prior to vaccination to prevent post-vaccination symptoms?
- Should patients who have recovered from Covid-19 receive the vaccine?
Do follow Dr. Low on his LinkedIn and we hope that you’ve been able to learn and benefit from the session like we do.
