Job Description:

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of the software architecture for an entirely new medical device family: from concept through to software integration into commercialised medical devices
  • Define, develop, and document software requirements and their corresponding validation procedures within a QMS: you will ensure that the software is developed to the 62304 standard
  • Create high quality code to specifications; test the code, lead and perform code reviews and quality assurance
  • Lead the building of a software team and company software pipeline
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and individuals across the company
  • Stay up to date with cutting-edge technology trends, communicate them in the company, and investigate their feasibility for current and future products

The successful candidate will have:

  • 4+ years recent software development experience
  • Medical Device experience (with a clear understanding of 62304)
  • Fluency in embedded C (or similar programming language), Matlab and similar engineering development tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal and collaborative skills: must be able to write clear code, specifications & proposals, and effectively discuss these
  • A positive attitude, being a self-starter and a fast learner
  • Skills at working efficiently both independently and within a team
  • An engineering degree at a good level (2:1 or above)
  • Full product life cycle experience

Ideally, you will also have experience in:

  • Cardiovascular device development
  • Human factors and user interface development
  • Signal processing, with Matlab, Python, or equivalent tools
  • Working in a quality management system and ISO 13485 compliance
  • Medtech industry experience
