Research Associate II, Formulation Development

Location: Boston, MA

Contract Length: 6-months (Potential to extend/convert)

Pay Rate: $30-35 (Based on Education and Experience)

Job Description

A well-known Pharma company is looking for a talented researcher to join their Formulation Development team. This individual will be supporting the development of solid dosage forms for clinical and commercial use, while working in a fast-paced, energetic, cross-functional environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of oral solid form development and material properties, as well as a background in an Engineering or Pharmaceutical field. An intellectually curious individual who can work well both on a team and independently will thrive in this environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop solid dosage forms for clinical and commercial use.
  • Generate data for project progression and regulatory filings.
  • Conduct optimization and scale up studies.
  • Design, plan, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments, with minimal supervision, to meet expected deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete laboratory notebook capturing protocols, results, and observations.
  • Perform basic statistical analysis of data.
  • Help support the technical transfer to CMO partners for clinical trial manufacture.
  • Comply with GMP requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience in an pharmaceutical or engineering field, material science or chemical engineering preferred OR Master's Degree with 0-1 year of experience.
  • Solid understanding of principals of solid dosage form development for clinical and commercial scales.
  • Strong math skills particularly as applied to material/energy balances, and intermediate applied statistical analysis.
  • Hands on experience with formulation techniques, processing equipment, and unit operations at both the laboratory and clinical manufacturing scales.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize/balance multiple projects at once.
