My client are a medical device contract manufacturer, based in Galway. They provide a broad range services to design, develop and deliver finished medical devices to market. Due to my client's acquisition by a multi-billion euro technology company, their site in Galway is going from strength to strength and is home to their global HQ. Due to this growth, they need an ambitious NPI Engineer to join them.
Permanent contract, working Monday-Friday (days - not shift work), competitive salary, annual bonus, pension contribution, healthcare cover.
As NPI Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projected related engineering activities within NPI while also providing engineering support to manufacturing during the new product introduction cycle. You will also be responsible for development of both existing and new process technologies as required by new products and prototypes.
Some of your day-to-day will include:
- Driving product and process improvements
- Managing new designs through product lifecycle into manufacturing
- Applying Lean principles to identify and develop improvements that increase key process metrics of yield, throughput and productivity.
- Investigating new process technologies and evaluate potential competitive advantage and the cost benefit of introduction.
You have an Engineering/Scientific degree (level 8) with at least 3 years' experience post-grad experience in a similar technical role (e.g. Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Validation Engineer). Your experience is in the medical device industry, however pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and the automotive industry are considered too.
